This article examines the evolution of Arquitectura, the journal of the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid, under the leadership of Jerónimo Junquera, Estanislao Pérez Pita between 1977-1980. During their direction, the journal underwent a significant transformation as it beca me an interdisciplinary space that embraced the diversity of concepts and perspectives. The most outstanding innovation lay in his conception of architecture as a "cultural phenomenon" which led to the creation, together with Gabriel Allende, of the first gallery devoted to architecture in Spain, "A x A". The magazine adopted a fragmented and challenging structure, linked to pastiche, promoting a decentred approach that encouraged a diversity of theoretical frameworks and collaborators. This approach recognised minority elements in Spanish culture, supported by an editorial board that introduced themes related to art and culture. Arquitectura introduced a postmodern perspective on Spanish architecture, challenging hegemonic narratives, promoting plurality of formats and opening new perspectives.
