Construction of non-fiction in contemporary architectural settings

Abstract

Cinema has used the relevant buildings of each era in a superficial way, taking advantage of them without showing their essence. This may be logical to do in fiction but not in documentaries that, historically, have put the image of architecture at its service instead of showing the architectural reality. In recent years, architecture documentaries have emerged with more reflection that integrates a relative and multifunctional reality. Authors like Wim Wenders have taken cinema a step further by incorporating 3D technology –understood from the physiognomy of the human eye– and by definitively breaking the utopian objectivity
