Scientific support to sport teams. An example of multidiscipline and technology integration

Abstract

Scientific support to sport teams allows for the application of the knowledge, protocols, technology, resources, etc. to improve the training process used by coaches and athletes. It involves the collaboration between coaches and researchers. This process involves setting goals and protocols after analysing the context, available resources, and needs. This paper describes an example of scientific support provided to a sports team (women´s rugby) and explains the procedures carried out from different perspectives, while integrating technology to try to improve athletes´ performances.
