Abstract

Making the end of the twentieth century coincide with the outcome of John Hejduk’s unique architectural trajectory, a certain historical perspective of his work is established in which the transgressive vocation of an enigmatic formal universe is revised. From the interview conducted by David Shapiro for the documentary film John Hejduk. Builder of Worlds, three main ideas are linked by way like resonances that mark the invariants of a new reality located outside the conventional practice, in which the community is part of the creative process. Three lines of argument that confirm, from the construction of the Mask Refuge of Buenos Aires in 1998, a conclusion, the ubicumque freedom of the whole work, right at the end of his life.
