Abstract

This article analyzes the work of Peter Eisenman from 1978 to 1988, as a prominent and influential architect in the current outlook, with special emphasis on the particular way that understands the context and the methods of manipulation of the ground. The search for tracks of references leads us to analyze texts Rosalind Krauss, Collin Rowe and Richard Morris, we find clear influences on how Eisenman raises the place. Furthermore, through analysis of the exhibition Cities of Artificial Excavation, especially with the help of competition Cannaregio, will discuss ways to proceed Eisenman. This project begins a new stage, it is with this project where he reinterprets the ground as traces of the past and which redefines the context as a fictitious place. Traces and tracks, ultimately expressing the key lines to understand their thinking, and have made a big contribution to contemporary architecture.
