The article describes the sequence of assertions that allowed Juan Borchers build principles of his concept of scale in architecture, backed by direct experience on their trip in 1948 to Egypt. The Egyptian monuments were a laboratory of experiences in a built environment. Allowed Borchers postulate sensible mathematics to defining sensitive intelligible aspects of architectural space perception. Borchers concludes that the architectural phenomenon occurs in the field of intermediate scale, the consequence of integration of two fields of perception: the objects scale or human scale (patterns that are part of the natural, geographical and cultural environment) and perspectival phenomena or plastic scale (sensory experience mediated of vision organ).Downloads
