Introduction: the professional soccer player must possess adequate physical qualities to face high intensity competitionsand training. The most important physical quality is the muscular force because of this specific abilities for soccer like acceleration, deceleration, speed and jump are given off. Eccentric strength training is of vital importance because it has been reported to increase physical qualities, reduce hamstring muscle injuries, increase bundle length, increase force innewtons and reduce the risk of muscle injury. Methodology: it was carried out a non-randomized quasi-experimental study that aimed to evaluate the effect of apreventive training for the hamstring muscles and determine reference values for male soccer players of the Colombian professional league in the posterior muscular chain measured in Newton with the Nordbord system. Results: there was no significant difference in the increase in hamstring muscle strength with the application of an injuryprevention protocol with a P = 0.258, hamstring strength values were obtained for Goalkeeper of 356N, lateral defenders344N, central defenders 365N, midfielder 357N , strikers 313N and ends 302N. Conclusion: reference values by position for professional soccer players of the Colombian league could be determinedthrough the process of monitoring and creation of specific strength profiles, which will allow future research onprofessional soccer players.Downloads
