Analysis of the Type of set in Volleyball, In U-16 Category

Abstract

The aims of the study was to know the variables from the precedent actions and the set variables, that affect the type of set. The study sample consisted of 2418 game actions (856 receptions, 856 setting in KI, 353 digs and 353 setting in KII), corresponding to the 16 female teams involved in the Spanish Championship in U-16 category. The study variables were: type of set in KI and KII, reception effectiveness, zone of set in KI and KII, setting effectiveness in the KI and in the KII, set´s area in KI and in KII, time of setting in KI and KII and defense effectiveness. The result showed significant association in the type of setting (stand or jump) and the reception and dig effectiveness, the set´s area in KI and KII, the setting effectiveness in KI and KII, the set´s area in KI and KII and the time of setting in KI and KII. These results can be considered in the training process of the setting.
