Abstract

The study analyzes the offensive actions (OA) finishing in shot at the Swedish Elit Serien, the floorball most competitive league in the world, in order to obtain precise information about offensive parameters during competition. Correlational research design was used, applying an observational instrument specifically designed for AO analysis (Prieto & Pérez, 2010). Three play-off matches of the season 2005-2006 (n=345) were studied. This instrument characterizes each AO, distinguishing between origin, development, ending and outcome. X², coefficient of contingency and contingency tables were used to evaluate the success or failure of each AO, and confidence level was established at p≤0.05. The results show the critical importance of the counterattack (representing 25% of the AO and obtaining 50% of goals), the significant relationship between the ending zone (5C) and the success of the AO (58% of goals) and the decisive role of the goalkeeper, stopping or rejecting 76% of the shots on goal. We believe that such studies are essential for the characterization of the competition and adequate training design in this sport.
