Abstract

The purpose of our study was to know the influence of the function in game in the procedural knowledge of novels volleyball players. The sample of study was composed by 8 novels volleyball players (less than 4 years of experience), 4 outside and inside hittes and 4 middle hitters. There was analyzed the representation of problems of attackers during the competition, the first question of the interview being used for it after the action elaborated by McPherson (2000), obtaining information over of the thoughts during the played point. There was in use the system of codification elaborated by McPherson (2000), which consists of three levels of analysis: conceptual content, sophistication and structure. The results determined that the players, indistinctly of the function in game, were possessing similar characteristics in the procedural knowledge. Our results have been confirmed by different researchs based on the study of the knowledge, the expertise and the volleyball.
