Peer review process

Kronos selects articles by double blind peer review system.
All articles received will be reviewed in the first instance by the editorial committee, who will decide if the article follows the editorial line of the journal and if it meets the formal requirements established in the authors guidelines.
Manuscripts that do not meet these formal characteristics will be returned to the authors to adapt the manuscript to current guidelines, and those that do not follow the editorial line will be rejected for publication in the journal.
The works that meet the guidelines properly and follow the editorial line of the journal will be sent anonymously to two external experts for their review.

The journal’s editorial committee, through its editor-in-chief, will communicate to the corresponding author the result of the review process (rejected, accepted with modifications, or accepted), as well as the suggestions and comments of the reviewers. If the manuscript is accepted with modifications, the authors must resubmit a new version of the article, which will be reviewed again by the same reviewers. The authors will provide a letter to the editor, in which they will indicate the content of the article modifications. If the authors decide not to follow the reviewers’ recommendations, they can justify their decision in the same letter.

The average evaluation time will be 60 days, counting from the date of acknowledgment of receipt. Once the process is finished, the editorial committee will communicate the resolution to the article corresponding author.
Accepted manuscripts will be published in the first issue available and according to the needs of the journal. Authors will know this information and the publication date at the time of acceptance.
