Taekwondo is a combat sport where the use of explosive kind techniques predominates. The purpose of this review is to meet the different values of explosive force, as well as the tests and instruments used to determine those strenghts-qualities in taekwondo athletes (WTF). The databases PubMed, EBSCO, and Web of Science platform, were used to find the differents researches and papers published until December 15, 2017, using the following keywords: "Taekwondo Evaluation; Muscle Strenght; Tests; Physiological Profile; Muscle Power". We found Fourteen (14) papers that met the established eligibility criteria. Also we found some differences in the values of explosive force between the different groups of athletes (recreational, national and international level); the last group have the highest levels of explosive forcé in average. Both, the tests and measurement instruments used in the studies were varied, but the use of technological systems in the measurement of this physical quality-strenght is suggested, providing a greater amount of useful data to the coach. Finally, the importance of assessing the explosive strength of this sport is highlighted, giving values that can be taken as guidelines for a better control of the training loads, applied to athletes.Downloads
