El deporte como herramienta pedagógica en educación superior: efectos sobre depresión, ansiedad, estrés y bienestar en universitarios. Una revisión sistemática

Resumen

Objetivo: Sintetizar evidencia sobre los efectos de intervenciones basadas en deporte, actividad física o ejercicio con componente pedagógico/educativo en la salud mental medida con instrumentos validados en estudiantes universitarios.

Métodos: Revisión sistemática siguiendo PRISMA 2020. La búsqueda se cerró el miércoles 6 de mayo de 2026 en Scopus (n=128), ScienceDirect (n=110), Web of Science (n=657) y SPORTDiscus (n=25), para un total de 920 registros. Tras eliminar duplicados (n=93), se cribaron 827 títulos y resúmenes; se excluyeron 709. Posteriormente, un cribado avanzado por resumen excluyó 78 registros (principalmente por ausencia de intervención estructurada) y se priorizaron 40 para texto completo; 1 no fue recuperado. Se evaluaron 39 textos completos, se excluyeron 26 por razones documentadas y se incluyeron 13 estudios.

Resultados: Los estudios incluidos (n=13) abarcaron ensayos aleatorizados y diseños no aleatorizados con intervención, con heterogeneidad en duración, modalidad (presencial, virtual o tecnologías inmersivas) y escalas (p. ej., DASS‑21, BDI/BDI‑II, SDS, HAMD, PSS, WHO‑5). En general, las intervenciones estructuradas con componente pedagógico se asociaron con mejoras en depresión, ansiedad, estrés y/o bienestar. No obstante, la interpretación se limita por riesgo de sesgo y variabilidad metodológica; la certeza global por desenlace (GRADE) fue baja a muy baja.

Conclusión: Las intervenciones deportivas y de actividad física integradas a estrategias pedagógicas muestran potencial para favorecer la salud mental universitaria, aunque se requieren estudios controlados y con mejor estandarización para fortalecer la evidencia.
